Villain Art's Tattoo Convention is Coming Up, Here's What You Should Know

With special guests from almost every season of Ink Master, renowned artists from Russia and the UK, and live performances every day, whats to lose but a bit of skin space?

Here are a few things to consider before heading to the convention center to check out all the amazing tattooing and maybe adding to your collection:

1. Don't get tattooed at the first booth you see- Take a look around. The best artist to do your geometric under water basket weaver probably won't be the first artist you find. Get a lay of the land.

2. Keep your kid on a leash- Yes, children get in free, but I can assure you that your artist will not give you the best work if your kid is throwing legos at her.

3. BRING SNACKS DRINK WATER- Especially if you are getting a tattoo. You pass out you tap out.

4. Bring cash- A lot of artists will take venmo or use a card reader, but it is always appreciated to be paid in cash. If you do end up paying by card, cash tip is always the standard, that being said.....

5. Tip your artist- Need I say more?

6. Set up an appointment- A lot of artists are doing walk ins, but if you want a slot for a big piece with an out of town artist, you should probably do some research first and shoot them a message before hand.

7. Think it through- If you are an impulsive person, maybe leave your wallet at home. It is far more tempting to get a tattoo you might regret down the line when there are dozens of artists trying to get you in their chair.

8. Don't expect to get tattooed by a celebrity artist- You and everyone else at the convention has their eye on the artist with millions of Instagram followers. Show up early or make an appointment. Your water color troll goblin ain't that important.

9. Get there early- You want time to look at the booths, see the performances, assess your artists, all while having time to get a tattoo done. You'll get a better product when you aren't the 15th client of the day anyway.

10. TIP YOU GODDDAMN ARTIST, PUNK!!!!!!!!
