Sunshine: Leg Lady Leg

I’ve been wanting to write about my best friend, Sunshine, since the start of this blog. They have one of the best tattoo collections I have ever seen on anyone and they are only 21. This is the story behind the lady head on Sunshine’s leg.

The tattoo was done at Rose Red Tattoo in Ellicott City by an artist that has done a few of their other pieces.

“The day I got it was awesome. I got it at an all-female tattoo shop and one of my favorite shops in MD, Rose Red Tattoo. It’s by the amazing M. She’s one of my favorite people, she’s the sweetest, most validating person I’ve met and her tattoo style is true to her.”

The tattoo is a full color depiction of a woman’s face framed by a knife.

“I’ve knew for a while I wanted a lady head, but I wanted something more unique. I wanted to have a girl of my own ethnicity rather than some rando taken off the internet so I based her off of Filipina actress Nadine Lustre. My artist based the knife of an actual sushi knife because I love sushi.”

As I said, Sunshine has a lot of really stellar artwork on them, but the lady head on their left leg garners a lot of attention.

“I love her, I get complimented on her daily and she’s done by one of my favorite artist so it feels good to have great artwork permanently on me.”

“On bad days, she’ll remind me of beauty and strength and help me move past whatever is challenging me”
