Rich: What Does It Mean? "Absolutely Nothing"

Not all tattoos have a big intricate story behind it. Not all tattoos are big and intricate. This is the story behind the “DUDE, NICE!” tattoo on my friend Rich’s ass.

Party tattoos are all about the experience of getting the tattoo. When Rich got his …interesting choice of ink, he was in Wisconsin to see his friends at a party.

One of his friends had recently gotten into tattooing and Rich happily obliged to give up some skin for a stick and poke. “You always hear horror stories about getting a tattoo at someone’s house and it’s kind of sketchy and it was definitely sketchy.”

“He is like ‘well what do you want to get tattooed?’ and I said ‘I don’t know, something stupid. I want something that when people see it they are like ‘dude, nice!’…wait a second, that’s perfect! I can just get ‘dude, nice!’ in quotation marks and that way whenever I show somebody that’s going to be their first reaction,’ so that was the reason behind that tattoo.”

When I asked him what it meant to him to have the tattoo on his body, he quickly responded, “absolutely nothing,” to which we had a good laugh.

“I get out of the shower and wrap up in a towel and see it and I’m like, ‘ok I did that. That’s there now.’”
